Conversion to General Schedule

Employees converting from AcqDemo to the General Schedule will enter the General Schedule based on the "Step 4 Rule." Employees can determine their new grade and step by the following:

  • Step 1:Compare current base salary to step 4 of the highest grade in the employee's broadband. If the series is a two-grade-interval series, only odd-numbered grades are considered below GS-11.
  • Step 2: If the employees adjusted AcqDemo pay rate equals or exceeds the applicable step 4 rate of the highest GS grade in the band, the employee is converted to that grade.

  • Examples for NH III Employee (NH III Band Covers GS 13-14)
  • Example 1: AcqDemo base salary= $83,000

  • Employee's base salary is greater than GS 13 Step 4, so this employee will convert as a GS 13. The base salary of $83,000 falls between Step 5 and Step 6. Because no employee will lose pay upon conversion, the employee will be converted as a GS 13 Step 6, at $84,127.

  • Example 2: AcqDemo base salary= $75,000

  • Employee's base salary is less than GS 13 Step 4, so this employee will convert as a GS 12. The base salary of $75,000 falls between Step 8 and Step 9. Because no employee will lose pay upon conversion, the employee will be converted as a GS 12 Step 9, at $76,806.
