Joint Advanced Concepts (JAC)

Joint Advanced Concepts leads concept development for the requirements, acquisition, and resource allocation processes to enable earlier engagement in the acquisition cycle, and to formulate robust program development planning supported by strong system engineering. Facilitates integration of the requirements and acquisition processes to bridge the military and civilian areas of responsibility with all COCOMs, services, agencies, and industry.

James "Raleigh" Durham is the Director, Joint Advanced Concepts, Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics (OUSD AT&L), where he develops and leads key initiatives that support recommendations to the Under Secretary on acquisition management decisions to best provide timely fielding of integrated combat capability to the Warfighter.
