About SCI

The Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Supply Chain Integration, under the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Logistics and Materiel Readiness, is responsible for the orchestration, synchronization, and integration of global supply chain integration and its operational execution. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Leads the development of DoD supply chain policies, including the integration of e-commerce capabilities

  • Strengthens reporting, detection and analysis of non-conforming counterfeit items

  • Supports Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness by strengthening logistics practices related to mission critical asset areas

  • Ensures timely and proper disposition of Foreign Excess Personal Property (FEPP) upon redeployment and drawdown

  • Ensures prudent reduction in current inventory excesses as well as a reduction in the potential for future excesses without degrading materiel support to the warfighter

  • Ensures improved visibility, accountability and control of all critical assets across supply chains

  • Adopts enterprise-wide metrics that promote common goals and interoperability across the supply chain

  • Ensures end-to-end integration of support within commodities across the supply chain strategy

  • Enables identification, development, and utilization of logistics human capital strategy and desired competencies to meet mission needs

  • Acts as the DoD Logistics focal point for multi-national cooperation
