We advise the Secretary of Defense on all matters related to small business and are committed to maximizing the contributions of small business in DoD acquisitions. We provide leadership and governance to the Military Departments and Defense Agencies to meet the needs of the nations' Warfighters, creating opportunities for small businesses while ensuring each tax dollar is spent responsibly.

Mentor-Protégé
The Mentor-Protégé Program encourages major DoD prime contractors (mentors) to develop the technical and business capabilities of small disadvantaged businesses (SDBs) and other eligible protégés.
SBIR/STTR
The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Programs harness the innovative talents and entrepreneurial energies of our nation's small technology companies for U.S. military and economic strength.
Indian Incentive
The Indian Incentive Program compensates prime contractors that use Indian organizations and Indian-owned economic enterprises on subcontracted work or on subcontracted commercial products manufactured in whole or in part by an Indian organization.

SMALL BUSINESS PROGRAMS WORKS CLOSELY WITH DCAA and DCMA
The Department of Defense (DoD) Office of Small Business Programs (OSBP) is pleased to announce the appointment of small business ombudsmen in the Defense Contract Audit Agency and (DCAA) and Defense Contract Management Agency and (DCMA).
Business.USA.gov is the U.S. government's official web portal to support business start-ups, growth, financing and exporting. It is designed to provide access to online resources and services of Federal, state, and local Government as well as those of non-profit and educational organizations supporting businesses.

Highlights DoD efforts to achieve the five percent goal for prime and subcontract awards to small businesses owned and controlled by women.
Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business
An aggressive DoD effort to improve the prime and subcontracting opportunities for businesses owned and controlled by veterans and service-disabled veterans.
Comprehensive Subcontracting Plan Test
A DoD program to determine if comprehensive subcontracting plans will result in increased subcontracting opportunities for small business while reducing the administrative burdens on contractors.
