- STTR 2012.A Solicitation is in pre-release. The solicitation will be open to proposal submission from February 27, 2012 at 6:00 AM ET through March 28, 2012 6AM ET.
- REAUTHORIZATION THROUGH 2017: The SBIR/STTR Reauthorization Act of 2011 has been passed. In addition to a full reauthorization of the SBIR, STTR, and Commercialization Readiness Program (CRP) through September 30, 2017, there are several other changes mandated for the programs. DoD is evaluating the impact of the legislation and will notify the SBIR/STTR communities of changes to the programs through our website and future solicitations.
- Congress Passes Reauthorization of SBIR/STTR/CPP Through September 30, 2017. On December 12, 2011, Congress officially passed legislation to reauthorize the SBIR, STTR, and CPP Programs (CPP will now be called CRP, Commercialization Readiness Program). The bill has been sent to the President for signature.
- Senate SB chair Landrieu delivers National SBIR/STTR Conference keynote address.
- The SBA has performed a series of improvements to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the overall SBIR program. Together, these improvements represent a new and improved SBIR, or as the SBA is calling it, "SBIR 2.0". More information can be found here
. - SBA published in the Federal Register proposed amendments to the SBIR Program to raise the SBIR Phase I award threshold amount from $100,000 to $150,000, and the Phase II award threshold amount from $750,000 to $1,000,000.
