Solicitation Topics
These files contain solicitation topics for the participating DoD Components—CBD, Navy, Air Force, DARPA, BMDO, DTRA, SOCOM, and NIMA. The solicitation topics are the R&D areas under which the DoD Components are seeking proposals. These files also contain the Component-specific instructions and list of DoD scientists and engineers who authored the solicitation topics ("Topic Authors"). The files are available in the following formats:
Important Note: Due to the events of September 11, 2001, the following Navy topics of the FY2001.1 SBIR Solicitation are no longer offered; N02-093, N02-094, N02-095, and N02-103.

Technical Questions: Between October 2 and November 30, 2000, you may talk directly with the Topic Authors to ask technical questions about the topics. Their names, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses are listed within each solicitation topic above. For reasons of competitive fairness, direct communication between proposers and topic authors is not allowed after November 30, when DoD begins accepting proposals for this solicitation. However, proposers may still submit written questions about solicitation topics through the SBIR/STTR Interactive Topic Information System (SITIS), in which the questioner and respondent remain anonymous and all questions and answers are posted electronically for general viewing until the solicitation closes. All proposers are advised to monitor SITIS (01.1 Q&A) during the solicitation period for questions and answers, and other significant information, relevant to the SBIR 01.1 topic under which they are proposing.
Proposal Cover Sheet and Company Commercialization Report: Your SBIR Proposal Cover Sheet (formerly, "Appendix A and B") and Company Commercialization Report must be submitted electronically after March 1, 2002 through the DOD SBIR/STTR Electronic Submission Web Site www.dodsbir.net/submission, as described in Sections 3.4b and 3.4n of the program solicitation.
