Background This final rule amends DFARS 201.402 to reflect the FAR amendments published as Item I of Federal Acquisition Circular 97-03 (62 FR 64913, December 9, 1997) that removed the prohibition against authorizing deviations from FAR Part 30, Cost Accounting Standards Administration. The rule also makes editorial changes to update DFARS part numbers and titles. [[Page 8727]] B. Regulatory Flexibility Act The final rule does not constitute a significant revision within the meaning of FAR 1.501 and Public Law 98-577 and publication for public comment is not required. However, comments from small entities concerning the affected DFARS subparts will be considered in accordance with 5 U.S.C. 610. Such comments should cite DFARS Case 97-D016. C. Paperwork Reduction Act The Paperwork Reduction Act does not apply because the final rule does not impose any information collection requirements that require the approval of the Office of Management and Budget under 44 U.S.C. 3501, et seq.
