DATA AND ANALYTICAL FRAMEWORK

Acquisition Enablers provides data governance, access, and analytics to enable acquisition insight and decision making in support of achieving better acquisition program outcomes. As a central repository for acquisition data, the Defense Acquisition Visibility Environment (DAVE) supplies authoritative data to help predict program and portfolio performance trends.

DOD 5000 SERIES REWRITE

The redesign of the Defense Acquisition System is the most transformational change to the acquisition policy in decades. The Adaptive Acquisition Framework embraces the delegation of decision making, tailoring program oversight to minimize unnecessary bureaucratic processes and actively managing risk based on the unique characteristics of the capability being acquired.

Guidebooks

The AAF Acquisition Guidebooks align with and complement our updated acquisition policies. They reflect modern business practice and supersede related chapter content in the Defense Acquisition Guidebook (DAG).

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The Intellectual Property Cadre is leading the DoD-wide modernization of IP policies, culture, and best practices to maximize return on DoD technology investments, reduce sustainment costs, and better enable the delivery of cutting-edge technology advantage to the Warfighter.

ACQUISITION INTELLIGENCE DIVISION

The Acquisition Intelligence Division (AID) leads the integration of intelligence and acquisition within the Defense Acquisition System by issuing policies, procedures and guidance governing the conduct of acquisition intelligence by the Military Departments and DoD Agencies.

MIDDLE TIER OF ACQUISITION

The DoDI 5000.80 establishes policy, assigns responsibilities, and prescribes procedures for the management of the MTA for rapid prototyping and rapid fielding described in Section 804 of the FY16 NDAA (Public Law 114-92).

SOFTWARE ACQUISITION

Acquisition Enablers is driving the Department of Defense to use modern software practices through the use of Agile software pilots Section 873 and Section 874 to deliver greater value faster to the warfighter.

ACQUISITION INNOVATION

Spanning academia, government, and industry, the Acquisition Innovation Research Center (AIRC) delivers innovative research, analysis, experiments, prototypes, and demonstrations on enduring challenges in defense acquisition policies, practices, education, and training.

SELECTED ACQUISITION REPORTS

SARs are prepared annually for Congress in conjunction with the President’s Budget request. Available in the SAR/MAR Catalog in DAVE, SARs summarize the latest estimates of cost, schedule, and performance status for MDA Programs.
