Acquisition Policy is responsible for policy development and implementation for the pathways depicted in the Adaptive Acquisition Framework. Our goal is to enable and empower the acquisition workforce to field effective and affordable capabilities, while simultaneously emphasizing transparency, speed of delivery, continuous adaptation, and frequent modular upgrades.

DOD 5000 SERIES REWRITE

The redesign of the Defense Acquisition System is the most transformational change to the acquisition policy in decades. The Adaptive Acquisition Framework embraces the delegation of decision making, tailoring program oversight into six pathways to minimize unnecessary bureaucratic processes and actively managing risk based on the unique characteristics of the capability being acquired.

MIDDLE TIER OF ACQUISITION

The DoDI 5000.80 establishes policy, assigns responsibilities, and prescribes procedures for the management of the MTA for rapid prototyping and rapid fielding described in Section 804 of the FY16 NDAA (Public Law 114-92).
