Acting Director, Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications
Ms. Cathy Brown assumed the duties of the Acting Director of the Nuclear Command, Control and Communications (NC3) Division in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment (A&S). In this position, she is responsible for the integration and synchronization of programs across the NC3 portfolio. Her office performs the duties of NC3 Enterprise Capability Portfolio Manager providing programmatic risk assessments and analyses of current and future enterprise capabilities. This supports the maintenance and modernization of a secure, effective, and resilient NC3 system for the nation’s nuclear deterrent.
Ms. Brown has supported the Department of Defense for more than 35 years by leading multi-disciplinary teams in analyzing and optimizing complex systems, conducting strategic program planning, and by solving operational and acquisition challenges. Before becoming a Department of Defense Civilian, she served as a United States Army Signal Corps officer and as a Department of Defense contractor.
Ms. Brown holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from the United States Military Academy and a Master of Science degree in Systems Engineering with a Graduate Certificate in Command and Control Systems from George Mason University.
