Adrienne E. Strickland

Deputy Director of the Defense Microelectronics Activity (DMEA)


Ms. Adrienne E. Strickland serves as the Deputy Director of the Defense Microelectronics Activity (DMEA), responsible for the day-to-day operations of over $2 billion in microelectronics programs, as well as numerous classified programs supporting the Department of War (DoW) and the Intelligence Community. She and the Director jointly report to the Assistant Secretary of War for Sustainment (ASW(S)), with the Director holding strategic responsibility for these programs.

Previously, Ms. Strickland served as DMEA's Contracting Division Chief, where she supported the directorate on all acquisition-related matters, including serving as the Competition Advocate. DMEA provides critical microelectronics support to every military service within the DoW, as well as other federal agencies, foreign partners, state governments, and U.S. industry.

Since joining DMEA in July 2016, Ms. Strickland has held various roles, including Chief of the Acquisition Policy & Analysis Branch, and positions in procurement analysis, policy development, and internal auditing. Prior to DMEA, she served as a Team Lead Procuring Contracting Officer with the Naval Air Systems Command Weapons Division, beginning her federal acquisition career in 2009.

Ms. Strickland holds a Master of Science degree in Acquisition & Contract Management (2012) from Bellevue University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Pre-Law (2006) from the University of Washington, Seattle. She is a Level III certified Defense Acquisition Professional in the Contracting career field and a graduate of the Graduate School USA’s New Leader Program. Before entering federal service, she worked in government relations in Washington, D.C.
