Carolynn Drudik

Deputy Director of the Defense Microelectronics Activity (DMEA)


Ms Carolynn Drudik is the Deputy Director of the Defense Microelectronics Activity (DMEA). Serving in this capacity she and the Director report to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Sustainment (ASD(S)), and responsible for over $2B of microelectronics programs in addition to numerous classified programs for the Department and Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community.

Prior to assuming the duties of Deputy Director of the Defense Microelectronics Activity (DMEA), she served as the Chief of the Defense Microelectronics Activity (DMEA) Warfighter Solutions Division. Responsibilities included microelectronics research, designs, prototypes, products, analyses, and consultation services that directly support active Warfighter mission operations at all security classification levels. She led multi-disciplinary teams in various technology areas, such as Digital, Analog, Mixed-Signal, Radio Frequency (RF), Antennas, Material Science, Mechanical, Embedded Software, and Physics at the levels of the System, Printed Circuit Board (PCB), and Integrated Circuits. Her team was lauded at the Pentagon multiple times by several Defense Department Under Secretaries, Intelligence Community leaders, Warfighter operatives, and Intelligence assets.

She previously served as the Division Chief for DMEA's Microelectronics Design and Integration Division; Chief of the Microelectronics Systems Branch for DMEA; and as the Chief of the Embedded Technology Section within the US Air Force Materiel Command. Ms. Drudik began her career as an electrical and electronic engineer working for the Aerojet Strategic Propulsion Company as a Specification and Standards Data Analyst, on the second stage design of the (MX) Peacekeeper Missile.

She is a graduate of California State University where she received: 1) a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, 2) a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Business Administration, and 3) a Master of Business Administration, (MBA) Degree. She is a Level III certified Defense Acquisition Professional in the career field of Systems Planning, Research, Development and Engineering (SPRDE). She has also earned her Black Belt martial art status in Taekwondo and has competed in national level tournaments.
