Defense Microelectronic Activity

Organic Engineering

Delivers leading-edge technical solutions through microelectronics research, design, prototypes, and product deliverables.

DMEA addresses low-volume, legacy, or obsolete technologies, and meets stringent mission requirements to satisfy Warfighter operational needs. With an experienced staff, advanced equipment and facilities, and an agile approach, DMEA complements other DoD capabilities to deliver solutions to resolve technology gaps.

Staff are aligned to the following value streams:

  • Avionics for secure Data Transfer Devices (DTDs)
  • Legacy systems for leveraging Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) to address obsolescence and Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS)
  • Quick Reaction Engineering (QRE) for providing a direct source for rapid development of especially unique and sensitive technologies to outpace the warfighter threat environment
  • Product support to address microelectronics performance issues impacting the Warfighter
  • Technical Data Packages to enable units to perform repairs in the field and in garrison
  • Manufacturing of high voltage discrete and RF components for sensitive military applications
