The Assistant Secretary of War for Sustainment (ASW(Sustainment)) serves as the principal staff assistant and advisor to the Under Secretary of War for Acquisition & Sustainment (USW(A&S)), Deputy Secretary of War (DEPSECWAR), and Secretary of War (SECWAR) on logistics, materiel readiness, and product support issues in the Department of War (DoW) and is the principal logistics official within the senior management of the DoW.
