Welcome To Materiel Readiness

The office of Deputy Assistant Secretary of War (MR), under the Assistant Secretary of War for Sustainment, is responsible for advising on all Department polices and procedures for maintenance support for major weapons systems and military equipment.

Mission

Establish the policies and programs necessary to achieve the levels of weapons systems and military equipment readiness required to fight and win.

Objective

  • Achieve measurable improvements in Ao in the next 12 months for priority weapons/platforms
  • Execute Maintenance Symposium
  • Build OIB depth/resilience/prepare for protraction
  • Accelerate sustainment (including corrosion) technology adoption
  • Improve munitions readiness by integrating explosives safety and risk management principles throughout the DoW enterprise.
