Contingency Contracting Support to Military Operations

Contingency contracting officers support a military operation from planning (Phase 0) through termination (Phase IV). They purchase a range of services and supplies using a variety of contractual methods and are engaged throughout the contract phases. These contracting professionals, both in deployed and reach-back locations, execute their work at an increased operational tempo to support the warfighter’s mission.

“Cash and carry” type purchases are made by field ordering officers (FOOs). Traditionally these purchases have been made using a Standard Form (SF) 44. DPAP has created the 3in1 tool to reduce the hazards of cash on the battlefield.
