Program Acquisition

Program Acquisition is responsible for formulating and overseeing contracting strategies supporting the procurement of major defense acquisition programs, major automated information systems and special interest projects for the Department.

Every acquisition program relies on a sound acquisition strategy reflecting a knowledge-based approach designed to inform decision making, reduce technology, integration, and manufacturing risk, and ensure program predictability. Sound acquisition strategies and the accompanying business/contracting strategies are essential to the execution of all acquisition programs.

These reviews assess the effectiveness of the contracting function, analyze and assist in any problem areas, and identify noteworthy practices that may be beneficial to all organizations. Point of contact for PMRs is Mr. Michael Pelkey, at 703-614-1253 or and the PMR program manager, Tara Petersen, at 804-734-0487 or
