Program Engagement - Space, Cyber, and Information Systems
The Space, Cyber, and Information Systems (SC&IS) division has program engagement and oversight responsibilities for more than 80 Major Defense Acquisition Programs, Major Automated Information Systems, and Special Interest programs across the DoD, Services, and Defense Agencies. This division provides engagement, mentoring, and assessments addressing DT&E planning, execution, and analyses of results across the assigned program portfolio. The SC&IS team engages with system program offices, test agencies, and staff counterparts to provide assessments for decision makers to improve system capability, resiliency, survivability, reliability, availability, and maintainability.
The SC&IS programs supported by this division are grouped into different mission areas:
- Space and Satellites
- Tactical and Strategic Communications
- Command and Control Systems
- Ground-based Radars
- Biometric Systems
- Defense Business Systems
The SC&IS team engages with the Services/Defense Agencies, Program Executive Offices, and program offices early and throughout the acquisition life cycle to assist in developing and documenting DT&E strategies and plans that will support system design and development, providing sufficient information to support key program decisions. Team personnel share the latest DT&E policies and guidance, best practices, and lessons learned with the engaged programs. This synergy provides the programs with the latest DT&E research and findings from academia and industry such as statistical analysis techniques, DevOps/agile testing, software reliability, and cybersecurity.
