DoD Military Medical Entomologist Professional Development

Army, Navy and Air Force entomology consultants and specialty leaders recently identified basic skills for DoD uniformed medical entomologists. Based on their collective experience and vision of future operational demands, knowledge focus areas were identified along with expectations for understanding and/or performance for each. Additionally, a guide was compiled that provides recommended resources to assist in developing these skills. These documents are “Service neutral” and are not a substitute for Service specific specialty or platform training. They are, however, intended to assist individual military medical entomologists, their mentors and/or supervisors in developing essential skills required to build a sound foundation of knowledge for future success.
