Domestic PPE Requirements Virtual Information Day

On July 14 and 15 the Department of Defense’s COVID-19 Joint Acquisition Task Force (JATF) hosted a virtual information day on personal protective equipment (PPE). The JATF, with the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), the Joint Staff, the Office of Industrial Policy, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Veterans Administration, the White House Supply Chain Advisory Group, the National Association of Manufacturers, and the Healthcare Industry Distributors Associations, discussed current and future demand for PPE and what can be done to support long-term domestic production of these critical medical resources. A recording of the event and presentation materials were provided to registered participants.

DLA Surgical/Isolation Gown RFPs

All three gown solicitations are now posted with a closing date of August 3, 2020 @ 10:00PM EDT. The solicitations are posted to both Beta.Sam and DIBBS as listed below:

These solicitations take into account industry feedback, clarifications from the Department of Health and Human Services, and include updated product descriptions, lot structures, and clarifying language on proposal submission and evaluation criteria. Interested parties are encouraged to consider submitting a new offer in accordance with the guidelines set forth within these solicitation(s), which are all scheduled to close on 3 August 2020 at 10PM EDT. JATF Commercial Solutions Opening (CSO)

On Monday, July 10 the JATF opened the Commercial Solutions Opening (CSO) to solicit concepts from industry in support of domestic industrial capacity for the JATF and HHS COVID-19 response priorities. The CSO will be used in lieu of the COVID-19 JATF Industry Portal, which is no longer enabled. Please visit the CSO website to learn more and review the Areas of Interest (AOIs), which include:

  • Pharmaceutical Industrial Base Expansion
  • Screening & Diagnostics
  • Personal Protective Equipment Industrial Base Expansion

The current AOIs closed on Friday, August 7, 2020 at 1800 hours (6pm) Eastern Daylight Time. No additional responses to the current AOIs will be accepted at this time.
