SCI Contingency Operations policies support the Department of Defense and the COCOMs in their ability to fight and support
contingencies throughout the world.SCI provides guidance on all DoD regulations and procedures in reference to commodities
management, transfer authorities, disposal functions, and hazardous waste disposal. SCI also initiates authorizations for policy
and regulation deviations as appropriate to in-theater operational requirements.
More than 400 paratroopers from the 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division, jumped from U.S. Air
Force C-17 Globemaster aircraft from JBER, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Altus A.F.B, as well as an Alaska Air National Guard C-130
on Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at the Malemute Drop Zone on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson.
