Dee Reardon is the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Supply Chain Integration and serves as a principal advisor to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Logistics and Materiel Readiness. She is dedicated to ensuring maximum readiness of weapon systems and excellent Warfighter support. She is responsible for development of the Department’s logistics strategy, overall supply chain integration, and global supply chain management policy, overseeing $90 billion of inventory and inventory management practices, asset visibility, distribution, and disposal as well as obsolescence and anti-counterfeit strategies and execution. She oversees policy development for repair parts requirements and forecasting, automatic identification technology for improved asset tracking and in-transit visibility, and leads the department’s plan to improve material distribution. She is responsible for enterprise supply chain performance and leads department-wide sustainment improvement initiatives, provides oversight of logistics information technology systems, and ensures efficient use of department logistics resources. She is a member of multiple international cooperation forums and inter-agency groups supporting the global supply chain with U.S. allies. She assumed this position in August 2013.
Mrs. Reardon also serves as the lead for the department’s Supply Chain & Logistics Reform Team executing the Secretary of Defense’s third priority to improve business processes and apply efficiencies to ensure greater readiness and lethality, the Secretary of Defense’s first priority. Overseeing a portfolio valued at 25% of the Department of Defense’s total obligation authority and 35% of the Department of Defense’s workforce, she is charged to move the needle on readiness. She assumed this position in October 2017.
Prior to assuming her current position, Mrs. Reardon was the Deputy Director of Logistics, Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, Installations and Mission Support, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C. Prior to that she was the Chief, Weapon System Sustainment, Directorate of Resources, Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, Installations and Mission Support, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C. She served in numerous logistics and resource management positions at multiple Major Commands and the Air Staff, leading programs in supply, maintenance, munitions, weapon system readiness, logistics plans, sustainment, budget and programming.
Mrs. Reardon holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and Computer Information Systems from Colorado State University, a Master of Business Administration in Human Resource Management from Hawaii Pacific University, and a Master of Science in National Resource Strategy from National Defense University, Industrial College of the Armed Forces. She has extensive Professional Military Education and experiential leadership training including Squadron Officer’s School, Air Command and Staff College, the DoD Executive Leadership Development Program, the Defense Leadership and Management Program, and the Vanguard Executive Program.
Mrs. Reardon has received a Notable Achievement Award, a Special Service award, an annual Air Force Association award, the Exemplary Civilian Service award, the Meritorious Civilian Service award, the Joseph G. Lineberger Excellence award for her service on the Air Force Board for the Correction of Military Records, and the Secretary of Defense Award for Exceptional Civilian Service. She is a member of the Air Force Association, Logistics Officer’s Association, and the Senior Professional Women’s Association. She serves on the board of the Northern Virginia Hockey Club and is the 2017 honorary co-President of the Silver Wings. In addition, by Presidential appointment, Mrs. Reardon serves as a Board member on UNICOR, a government corporation. Mrs. Reardon was selected for membership in the Senior Executive Service in 2008.
