Accountability Policies

There are several Department of Defense (DoD) policies outlining the treatment and accountability of personal property. DoD Instruction (DoDI) 5000.64, “Accountability and Management of DoD Equipment and Other Accountable Property” is the main policy concerning personal property accountability. The purpose of this instruction:

As referenced in 5000.64, the DoD Equipment Management Capability Maturity Model (EMCMM) has been made available to assist DoD with identifying and implementing metrics to assess and report overall property management maturity levels.

There are also several memorandums addressing additional information concerning the treatment of property. Key policies and guidance are displayed at the submenu on the left. Additional relevant accountability policies are available in the Reference Library.
