Physical Inventories (CLM037) Course

A new Continuous Learning Module—Physical Inventories course (CLM037)—is now available for all Department of Defense (DoD) personnel whose job includes implementing DoD Instruction (DoDI) 5000.64, Accountability and Management of DoD-Owned Equipment and Other Property.

This course provides a basic understanding of DoD requirements for physical inventories of equipment and other accountable property. The course presents the role of the Accountable Property Officer (Note: Actual titles vary by Component; accountable officer, property book officer, personal property manager, chief of supply, etc.), emphasizes best business practices, and discusses performance measurements and interpretation of inventory results.

Registration is required to take the course for credit, but is not needed to browse the course. (Hint: Follow instructions at the top of the browser to register.) This self-paced course takes approximately 2.0 hours to complete and is recommended for 2.0 continuous learning points (CLP).

Prerequisite: Complete the Foundations of Government Property course.

Who should take this course: Accountable Property Officers, property custodians, accounting and financial managers and all others who are involved in fiscal and physical accountability and management of DoD equipment and other accountable property.
